Awakening to the Logos: Week 1
The Logos is the power and knowledge that steers all things – the Logos knows. There is but one Wisdom to understand the knowledge by which all things are piloted through all. Athough all things happen thorugh the Logos, people seem as if they had no acquaintance with such works and words as I expound…. The rest of humanity are uncouscious of what they do when awake, just as they forget what they do when asleep…. People are unable to understand their own experience of the Logos, for eyes and ears are bad witnesses to those who have barbarian souls…. People are at variance with the Logos which is their most constant companion. Although the Logos is common to all, most people live as if each had a private intelligence of their own. Although intimately connected with the Logos, people keep setting themselves against It. Listen not to me but to the Logos, it is wise to agree that all things in reality are one and one thing only. For those awake, there is but one common cosmos. But for those sleeping each deserts into a private cosmos. - Heraclitus (6 th century B.C.)
