Steve Pavey is a photographer, a contemplative, a storyteller, a cultural organizer – all of which come together in the vocation of cultivating a way to see, in order to bear witness to the world both as it is, and as it could be.
Join us for a weekend to focus on hope – the hope we must live into of re-connection with ourselves, with each other, and the more-than-human world around us.

Come hear Steve discuss his contemplative & creative practice, which is shaped by a praxis of using photography as accompaniment alongside the marginalized and oppressed.
Participants will learn more about how contemplation, photography, and accompaniment are valuable practices for individual and collective liberation.
Steve will share from his own personal journey walking together with the Apache Stronghold to our sacred unity and guide us in the practice of Visio Divina using his photography.

Join us for a guided contemplative retreat using photography as a contemplative practice to see with your heart.
Participants will use their cell phone cameras as a way to pay attention to the present moment rather than capture a perfect photo.
Thomas Merton said he used his zen camera to practice being “aware, mindful, of illusion” to learn to see with eyes of the heart that “the gate of heaven is everywhere.”

Join us in worship as we use some of Steve’s images as prompts to help us celebrate World Communion Day.
After worship we will meet in The Anchor House to share what themes in the service connected with us and to have an opportunity for some Q&A with Steve.
