Week 6

O God, you are the most beautiful. You are the highest good. You are the source of love. You are the give of life. What misery and hardship comes to us when we turn away from you. (And an Inner Voice said,) O bird from the Soul of Paradise, fly back to your native land. You have broken free from this cage. Your wings are eager for flight. Fly from these brackish ponds Toward the flowing waters of life. Leave the entryway, And return to the throne-room of your soul. Jalaluddin Rumi

Scripture References: Acts 11:19-26

From Series: "Boundless Love"

The love of God . . . is a bottomless, boundless, endless ocean, that swallows up our finitude in its infinite depths, that buries all our shallowness, that ever flows in its tidal ebb, and with its limitless life supplies all our needs, until it has transformed its beloved objects into its own image according to our creature-capacities, until it has washed all guilt out of us, and all healing into us; until it has freed us from all death and suffering, and raised us into itself as a portion of the Divine. Then, this Divine Love will be to us, a well of mercy, an infinite ocean of joy and beauty, where we will live, and bathe, and dive to the praise of the beauty of Divine love to the endless depths of all eternity. Anne Dutton (18th century)
