Preparing for retirement and estate planning can be overwhelming.

In this course, Joe Pascoe will cover various financial topics that he has learned from you and past clients are topics that are of concern to you and are not clearly described by your financial advisor or attorney.

What to Expect:

Classes will take place on Thursday mornings in February from 10:00 to 11:30 am.The four sessions will focus on:

 

  • Understanding Risk Factors in Investing, looking at concentration risk, emotional risk, allocation risk and opportunity risk
  • Answering the question heard from many retirees, “Am I OK and do I have enough?” by using main elements that are used by most financial advisors to answer this question and what you can do to help them answer this question
  • Estate Planning and helping our children / loved ones if something happens to us by covering a basic understanding of important legal documents, how to prepare a ‘Location of Important Things’ document
  • How to write an Ethical Will for your loved ones, the preparation of a document that lists your desires as to how you wish to be cared for in your final weeks/days, ending with how and where you wish your memorial service to be done.

Meet Joseph Pascoe

Founder & President, Steward Financial Guidance, LLC.

After retiring in 2022 as a financial adviser and portfolio manager for 48 years, Mr. Pascoe set up the non-profit corporation, Steward Financial Guidance, LLC to provide investment and estate settlement guidance for high net worth individuals, primarily in the Houston, TX area.

Mr. Pascoe has served on numerous finance committees of non-profit organizations such as the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Of his 48 years in the financial services industry, his final employment with RBC Wealth Management spanned over 33years. His team upon retirement consisted of three partners that managed in excess of $300 million. The remaining team is still managing and growing successfully the relationships Mr. Pascoe developed over his 48 years in the industry. He developed a proprietary portfolio management system named Enhanced Asset Management System (EAMS) that was initiated by his team in the early 2000s and is still being used today.

Steward Financial Guidance provides fee-based coaching and financial guidance for high net individuals free of product sales or fee-based asset management. Its focus is to offer unbiased opinions on strategic financial decisions for both individuals and business owners, providing them a specifically tailored financial roadmap and regular conferences as needed.

Mr. Pascoe is a native Houstonian, graduating cum-laude with a BBA majoring in Finance from the University of Houston in 1973. He has been married to Carole Alm for the last 20 years, has two children from his former spouse (deceased), a stepdaughter and numerous grandchildren. He remains active in a number of non-profit activities, giving of his time and expertise to both his church and the local community.
