Jesus made things whole, and the Gospels are replete with stories of Jesus’ “whole-making.” As Jesus announced his mission of whole-making, he directed himself to those who are in need of being made whole.... He indicated that his mission is not one of power but one of healing, making whole through the “Spirit of the Lord,” the Spirit who anointed Jesus to reach out to those who are broken or disconnected from the fullness of life.
