The Enneagram

Mining Our Resources Points

A 2-Day Enneagram Workshop with Sandra Smith

April 29, 6 – 8PM & April 30, 9AM – 4PM

This Enneagram workshop is designed to deepen self-awareness by exploring the influence of our type’s resource points (wings and connecting lines). Understanding these resource points allows us to grasp more fully the complexity and dynamics of the Enneagram as we place ourselves in a larger context within this system and within our own perspective of self.

Stretching beyond who we’ve identified ourselves to be enriches the journey to living more fully who we are.

What does it mean for a type Nine to work with the gifts of type Six, a connecting point? Perhaps the Nine engages the imagination more and asks hard questions. A type One accessing the gifts of type Four can take more time for reflection and self-care, allowing for creative options to emerge. Each type’s resource points can bring balance and reminds us that all we need is within.

Introducing the Enneagram Perspective Circle

This workshop will introduce the Enneagram Perspective Circle which invites participants to experience walking the Enneagram to gain perspective and mine the wisdom of their resource points. Bring an issue that you want perspective on, or you want to see in a new way, in order to enhance your decision-making.

In addition to experiencing different perspectives, we’ll explore the virtues of both our own type and those of our resource points. Discussion will revolve around, not only the “ideas” of the vice and virtue, but the felt sense of each. We’ll engage present practices to connect with our body wisdom and to cultivate more internal spaciousness.

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram offers a clear map of nine distinct ego structures, their focus of attention, motivations beneath behaviors, core fears, and inherent strengths.

Rather than focusing on external behaviors as other systems do, the Enneagram brings to consciousness “why we do what we do” and indicates how we go on automatic.

As we deepen our self-awareness, we become less reactive, more curious, and more compassionate.

Understanding the nine different filters and motivations allows us to be more patient with differing points of view and lessen our judging.

A Next Step with the Enneagram

This retreat is for anyone who already has a working knowledge of their Enneagram type. It will be a great “next step” on your spiritual journey working with the Map of the Enneagram. This experience will also be particularly useful to therapists, coaches, and spiritual directors who work with clients who know their Enneagram type. Whether just getting started with working with your Enneagram Type, more advanced in your learning, or teaching the system, this two-day retreat experience will offer you material to deepen your self-understanding as well as expand ways of using the Enneagram Map.
