In our Advent series "Overlooked," we have examined familiar birth-story characters from a different point of view, as well as characters we may have never considered before. On the fourth Sunday of Advent, we look at a character who shows up in some of the earliest literature and art of the ancient Eastern Church, but someone the Western church has largely forgotten - the midwife!
